Commercial Furniture Design Coordinator
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

We are the largest independent reseller of commercial office furniture, supplies and art supplies on the Central Coast and service Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito and Southern Santa Clara counties. We are looking to grow our department and have a fast-paced position open working in furniture space planning and interior design.    
 
Job Summary:
 
Under direction, this position is responsible for supporting our Commercial Furniture Account Managers with Site Visits, Client Communication, Product Specification, and Interior Space Planning. Duties will also include working with the furniture team on Project Coordination and Order Processing. This position will report to our Santa Cruz Corporate location.
 
Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Research and specify furniture for space design projects
  • Produce and present design concepts and proposals to clients
  • Meet with customer to gather project information and field measurements
  • Order processing and project coordination 
 
 
Education/Experience
  • College degree or equivalent work experience in Interior Design
  • AutoCAD and 2020 CAP Studio or 2 years’ related design experience
  • Furniture manufacturing knowledge
  • Prior experience with HON system furniture products a plus
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to provide friendly, professional service to internal staff and clients
  • Strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects, while taking ownership for project deliverables
  • Exceptional customer service skills with ability to provide solutions to client needs
  • Excellent at Internet Research
  • Familiarity with using manufacturer and wholesaler price lists
  • Technically savvy of computer software and building spreadsheets
  • Proficient in Word, Outlook and Excel. Typing at a minimum of 40wpm
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
