Consumer PR Pro? We’ve Got an Account Executive job for you!
We’re SHIFT Communications. We’re what happens when you combine social media goodness with traditional PR. We’re what you get when 100 brainy, fun people actually like working (and playing) together while crushing it on kick a$$ consumer/tech clients.
We’re the place where killer ideas are born and where office politics goes to die. Not the other way around, like some other places you may have worked.
We give you a voice and a spotlight in exchange for your passion. You’re good at what you do, and we’re good about helping you shine. Whether you’re working on cool consumer startup clients or major brands, we’re looking for a person who isn’t content with the status quo. We’re looking for a person to punch above his/her weight class. We’re looking to challenge you with new opportunity, and for you to challenge us by thinking differently, creatively, nimbly.
Importantly, we’re looking for folks who know how to play nicely. Are you quick to provide solutions in the face of problems? Do you value the success of your fellow colleagues as much as your own?
Cool. You just might be a SHIFTer.
In a nutshell, here’s what Account Executives do on our consumer teams (hint: a lot!)
Forge relationships with targeted media contacts that can be leveraged to secure quality coverage for clients, aggressively pursuing new media targets on a regular basis; ability to write creative pitching angles is key
Develop, maintain and manage database of targeted analysts for client programs, and forge relationships with analysts through consistent outreach and updates on client news and developments;
Exhibit attention to detail and compliance with the basic principles of business writing and AP style guidelines in all written materials provided to team, clients and prospects;
You’ll write a broad range of materials and need to be versatile and skilled
Network and form working relationships with bloggers and other social influencers that can generate awareness for clients; Execute social media tactics including, but not limited to, monitoring Twitter and the blogosphere for commenting opportunities, and drafting tweets and blog posts as needed; and,
Bachelor’s degree in PR, Communications, Journalism or related field.
3-5 years of prior experience.
Think you can handle all of that? If you know you can crush this stuff, want to hear from you. Trust us, there’s a lot of work to be done, but also a heck of a lot of fun to be had at SHIFT.
