Job Description
 
Title: Team Leader
Location: Monroe, OH or Fernley, NV.

Reports To: Crew Manager
 
Supervises:  Production Group
 
 
 
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
        
The Team Leader will be responsible for his/her core group in achieving production goals set daily for each shift.  Excellent intrapersonal skills are required to facilitate the proper allocation of the work force present on each shift to meet the needs of the customer daily.  The Crew Leader will demonstrate safe work practices daily, leading by example by consistently following and enforcing all safety policies.  Each Leader will develop and manage the performance, training and growth of each associate within the group. 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Responsible for leading, managing and supporting up to 15 employees to meet or exceed the company standards established for their roles and responsibilities respective of their position.
  • Responsible for quality and ensuring all company standards are met to satisfy customer needs on time.
  • Lead his/her team in participating in all safety programs and safe workplace practices.Including but not limited to following all safety protocols set forth by the management team, wearing all PPE at all appropriate times.
  • Proactively participate in retention and career growth activities and encourage employees in their personal career goals.
  • Manage and support effective employee training and orientation programs to support employee growth, knowledge and career development.
  • Proactively participate in retention activities.
  • Manage employee resources and plant production to achieve and meet production standards by:
    • Auditing profiles to verify conformance to specifications.
    • Analyzing production schedules and estimate labor hour requirements for job completion.
    • assigns duties to group employees to efficiently meet production goals for each shift safely
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Coordinate activities and communications with supporting departments.
  • Support, mentor and communicate employee successes.
 
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Manage, administer and coordinate employee records management, tracking reports, data collection and transposing information for management reports.
  • Maintain attendance records for all employees.
  • Handle routine vacation requests from employees.
  • Coordinate leaves of absence with Human Resources Department.
  • Review exception reports for payroll accuracy.
  • Audit housekeeping on a regular basis.
  • Communicate and implement projects for improved production.
  • Help facilitate improvement through participation on intra-company teams.
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience
  • High School diploma or (GED) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in technical field preferred.
  • Three years of front line manufacturing supervision experience of 10+ employees is required.
  • Five years of experience in plastics production preferred.

  • Stand, walk, and sit throughout the 11.5-hour shift.

  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and extreme heat while on the manufacturing floor.

  • Required to wear earplugs, safety shoes and eye protection while on the manufacturing floor.
 
WORK SCHEDULES:
 
  • Normal work hours are either 7:30 am to 8 pm or 7:30 pm to 8 am.
  • Normal workdays encompass a work schedule that follows the 2-2-3 pattern.  Employee will work 7 days in a 14 day period in addition to any overtime that may be required to meet company goals.
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required.
