Position:  Associate Buyer
The Associate Buyer is responsible for effectively managing the purchase order replenishment process. Focus is on matching inventory levels with product ion needs for raw materials, packaging components, and/or purchased finished goods. Person is also responsible for the procurement, receipt, and reconciliation of finished goods from outside Toll Producers and/or suppliers who drop ship to customer sites. Support  chemical management programs where applicable.
Primary Functions
  1. Analyze and set minimum stocking levels for critical raws, containers and GSAP to minimize stock outs and product disruptions.
  2. Place purchase orders with suppliers, schedule deliveries, create bill of ladings and manage logistics as it pertains to purchasing. 
  3. Monitor inventory levels, adjust reorder points, min/max levels and lead times to maximize production SIOP levels. Working closely with demand planning/forecasting to achieve highest possible accuracy.
  4. Purchase raw materials from approved/awarded suppliers to support chemical management programs and satisfy minimum order points and production demands.
  5. Input and maintain trade agreement pricing..
  6. Handle all raw material claims, returns, feedbacks and bring them to a timely closure.
  7. Collaborate and communicate regularly with Operations, Receiving, Warehousing to ensure that expectations and constantly met.
  8. Monitor open purchase order report for proper closure.
  9. Provide back-up support to Sourcing Department.
  10. Work with Finance and Item Master to resolve issues/discrepancies with inventory accuracy.
  11. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate in a fast paced environment. Verbal communication will be necessary both internally and externally.
Periodic visits to the plant floor and warehouses should be anticipated.
Minimal travel required. Approximately 5%.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two –four years of job-related experience preferred. Resource or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  2. Working Knowledge and Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
  3. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  4. Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
  5. Solid telephone and oral communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
