Construction Project Manager-London, Ontario
RESPONSIBILITIES /JOB PURPOSE
The Construction Project Manager's job purpose is to plan, organize, and control all construction activities, and resources for all anticipated and approved construction projects at one or more job sites, representing the owner or developer. Responsible for the day-to-day operation at construction site(s) and functions as the company representative to ensure customer satisfaction. Provides leadership and direction to ensure construction projects are completed on schedule and meet cost and profit objectives.
•Assist client with all preconstruction start up duties, and project office setup and coordination.
•Oversight of all Field Superintendents, Environmental project managers, and an Administrative Assistant.
•Assist client with the management of the overall project budget and schedule.
•Assist client with all general contractor, subcontractor, material, and equipment supplier management.
•Ensure that the General Contractor is performing within the requirements of the construction contract.
•Assist client with overall project issue resolution required throughout the life of the project.
•Ensure overall project compliance with all permits, conditions, and agreements.
•Assist client with all project close out procedures.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
•Must have relevant experience working on Alternative Energy Projects (Wind/Solar).
•Must have experience working with the Ontario Power Authority processes and procedures.
•8-10 years of experience in construction management, civil engineering or related field.
•Knowledge utilizing Vision as a project management tool.
•Experience managing and mentoring other employees.
•BS in Construction Management, Construction/Mechanical/Civil Engineer or equivalent.
•Tact, common sense, and ability to perform under stressful conditions.
•Excellent communication (oral written, listening), organization, multi-tasking, and problem solving skills.
•Ability to encourage dialogue within project teams, across market sectors, and throughout organization.
