General Overview
The Manager of Global Communications supports development and implementation of transcultural communication strategies to advance Rotary’s strategic initiatives and grow our brand.
This individual builds and grows global brand presence through the coordination of compelling global content by driving overall effective communications. This individual leads a team that works to elevate the Rotary brand, and ensure that our global communication is strategic and aligned with our overall objectives.
  • Lead the activation of Rotary’s global communication strategy, ensuring alignment with our strategic priorities.
  • Manage localization, translation, transcreation, copy editing and quality assurance of content.
  • Ensure consistent and effective planning, development and execution of global leadership communications, including creation of relevant and culturally appropriate original content, in line with Rotary’s communication strategy.
  • Lead our global social media strategy, leveraging this medium to enhance engagement and advance global brand positioning.  Ensure relevant regional aspects are applied to achieve meaningful global engagement through all existing social media assets.
  • Guide the regional communication leads in developing and executing global strategies.
  • Guide the global content lead in providing expertise on quality standards for communications, including making sure that communications in English have a global tone and that Rotary’s voice is applied.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Global Communications and Design, build process, structure and discipline around communications, including the implementation of metrics and analysis.
  • Act as one of the subject matters experts in relevance and global dissemination of content.
  • Act as a global brand ambassador and build regional employee excitement around Rotary’s brand, core businesses and initiatives.
  • Work with the Communications Business Partner and the Manager of Design regarding volume and type of relevant content to be localized.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and design strategic communications to inform, educate, motivate and engage internal and external audiences to deliver messages and support our global community
  • Strengthen internal and external relationships across the organization, including Rotary’s International Offices and regional magazines.
  • Work with senior management to create alignment on strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with other communications teams and areas of the organization to ensure alignment and integration and maximize the global reach of our messages.
Budgetary Responsibility
The Manager of Global Communications is responsible for the annual budget for freelance translation, and localization.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Manager of Global Communications is responsible for goal setting, coaching, staffing, and motivating team members.

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, a business discipline or related field
  • 5 years managing a multi-cultural team
  • 5 years of experience with global content and audiences/organizations
  • Fluency in a second language is highly desirable
