Directly leading a team of 7-9 people, you are also responsible for goal setting, coaching, staffing, and motivating team members.
 
You Will Have
  • Professional proficiency in English and Portuguese and/or Spanish
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills which includes active listening, critical thinking, advising and counseling
  • 3 years of experience directly leading a communications team or function
  • 4 - 6 years of experience creating, localizing or editing timely content; this can include media messages, op-eds, talking points, or materials somehow designed to influence broad audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • Ability to creatively address strategic initiatives and be able to clearly communicate how the regional team’s performance will contribute to these initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of major global and some regional social media platforms
  • Solid understanding of content concepts and how they may translate into localized concepts
  • Solid organizational skills with ability to meet multiple deadlines concurrently
  • Capacity to identify challenges and pro-actively present solutions
  • Ability to delegate effectively so the team achieves at its highest level
  • Ability to effectively motivate others and create a supportive, collaborative working relationships

You Will Be Responsible For
Regional Leadership
This position will act as a subject matter expert on the region supported. This means that the Communications Regional Supervisor will need to demonstrate leadership in the following ways:
  • Identifying opportunities within the team to help develop overall Rotary's communications strategy in the region supported, in conjunction with other communications teams and international offices.
  • Acting as a regional subject matter expert in terms of relevant content and communication strategies.
  • Monitoring and present relevant data, trends, successes and exceptions in relation to our communications.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with a broad range of people, both inside and outside of the organization.
Performance Management
This position is responsible for the entire life-cycle of all tasks presented to the regional communication team, including webinars, voice-overs, localization, translation, transcreation and creation of content, ensuring the smooth flow of operations. These responsibilities can include:
  • Creating, translating, localizing, editing and proofreading content while ensuring that all quality standards and guidelines are followed.
  • Regularly discussing performance and providing real-time feedback and coaching to regional team members.
  • Managing localization projects to ensure timeliness and quality of all deliverables.
  • Managing workflow processes for the regional and Global Communication teams.
  • Contributing ideas to improve procedures, quality and efficiency within the Global Communication team.
  • Implementing quality and efficiency standards according to the Quality Assurance Programs and defined expectations.
  • Identifying, securing and managing a pool of external resources to be used when needed.
Communication
The Communications Regional Supervisor is part of a much larger communications team that focuses on delivering relevant content to a global audience. While integrating their regional team into Marketing, Public Relations, Social Media, and other more traditional communications areas, this position is responsible for:
  • Suggesting relevant, engaging and creative ideas to promote the Rotary brand in the region supported.
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of either regional or localized communications and branding strategies that increase the impact of Rotary's events, print and online publications, projects, and initiatives.
  • Encouraging and supporting creativity and initiative within the regional team.
  • Acting as a regional brand ambassador who can build regional excitement around Rotary’s brand, core businesses and initiatives.
  • Planning and executing social media initiatives for the region supported, in line with the global social media and communication strategies.
