General Overview
Rotary International is seeking a Manager – DIS Delivery, working within the Information Technology department to work on developing and testing data integration services which are used by a wide variety of application that impact how Rotary International staff, Rotarians, and 3rd Party Vendors manage members and clubs.
The Manager - DIS Delivery will play a central role in the successful operations of Rotary applications by managing data flow internally and externally amongst different applications based on business requirements at the same time ensuring data security and governance policies are being adhered to. DIS Delivery manager represents the interests of the IT and Business Applications teams and is therefore responsible for prioritizing work for the scrum team and driving delivery of work on a daily basis. He/She will work closely with the Business System Analysts to remove obstacles, provide transparency to the team’s work and determine whether that work was delivered meets applications team requirement and expectations. Additionally, the manager will ensure that there is a strategic vision for the service and plans to implement those.
Profile for Success 
  • Manage the development and QA resources both onshore and offshore to deliver, build and update Rotary Data Integration Services (DIS).   
  • Understand the business’ needs and strategic roadmap to develop a technology roadmap for services. 
  • Work with the Business Analysts and Architects for DIS to realize the Product Roadmap.  
  • Ensures that the technology is utilized in the most optimal fashion within the organization and integrates well within the enterprise landscape.
  • Participate in development of the data security and policies and ensure its compliance.
  • Work with different product teams to identify and develop plans to improve and enhance current data management processes. 
  • Have an outside in perspective of what the technology trends are emerging and road map development to ensure Rotary DIS continues to evolve.

This position exists to ensure that the CIO’s direction is achieved, and that the technology department delivers maximum value to Rotary International staff and the global Rotary community.  Additionally, with Rotary International being custodians of member data, ensuring data is protected by implementing relevant procedures and along with moving the required data securely to different applications fulfills the role of this position.

With minimal direction the DIS Delivery - Manager must deliver IT strategic initiatives on time and ensure that all technology business operations are managed effectively.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience programming the following required:  C#.NET
  • Experience with the .NET framework, including MVC, required.
  • Experience with developing (SOAP, RESTful), unit testing (MSTest) and QA/UAT (Postman) required.
  • Must possess a sound knowledge of Architectural Principles and Design methodologies
  • Must understand the concepts of Object-Oriented Design, CMS Integration, Web Application Security.

Specific Tasks and Duties 
  • Identify and own architectural and other technology based risk, escalating to the Delivery Director, as appropriate 
  • Ensure that the project’s non-functional requirements are achievable and are subsequently met 
  • Resolve technical differences between technical team members 
  • Make presentations to IT Leadership teams on technology options and recommendations.
  • Provide technical expertise to the offshore development team as they work through product releases.
  • Provides technical expertise to project teams, as needed.
  • Establish or provide best practices for coding standards and for development like code reviews on projects and operations.
Work Environment
This position works from Rotary International World Headquarters in Evanston, IL, and involves minor travel to international offices as needed.
