Occupational Therapy Assistant - Part Time

About the Opportunity:
Northern Oaks Living & Rehabilitation Center is a charming skilled rehab facility in Abilene with a busy geriatric caseload and a diverse mix of cognitive, orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. We are currently seeking a part time OTA to join our fun and dynamic in house therapy team. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate as we have an experienced OT on site as well as an enthusiastic and creative Director of Rehabilitation who can help mentor and train. Northern Oaks receives support from Ensign Services who provides a wide range of clinical and operational assistance to over 100 independently owned healthcare operations located throughout the United States. Duties: 

  • Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist and adhere to facility documentation guidelines.
  •  Record treatments given and progress notes in medical record.
  •  Assist in maintaining department.
  •  Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences.
  •  Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.
  •  Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems and plans.
  •  Participate in in service training programs for other staff in the facility.
  •  Record treatment charges per the facility policy and procedures.
  •  Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance program.

Requirements:

Experience/Qualifications:
Licensed or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant 
New graduates are welcome
