State Municipal Operations Manager - Washington
 
SAFEbuilt’s State Manager has responsibility for reaching company regional-level goals and objectives.  This position requires powerful communication, time management, account management, and people management skills. Municipal management experience is strongly preferred. The position will report into the VP of Operations and have a strong impact on business development goals.  The individual will be the primary municipal client contact and interface for key accounts within their region.
 
The State Director will have P&L responsibility and in-depth understanding of company budgeting, spending, financial, business systems, human resource, and business development procedures as they relate to and impact Operations.  The State Director will be responsible for executing in-market client support and sales-related activities based on analyzing and capitalizing on opportunities to upsell services, as well as help pursue new business opportunities. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop strategies, programs and implementations in alignment with company objectives.
  • Develop and manage financial, and other operational, targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key municipal contacts.
  • Collect and report relevant “visit” data and “competitive” data to sales and operations.
  • Act as liaison for strategic partners for items including current staff, process, research on items, and new business development.
  • Direct new office development and implementation:
  • Create budget and financial targets
  • Oversee implementation plan of a start-up operation
  • Work closely with sales & marketing and operations V.P.
  • Evaluate regional, state, and office-level operations:
    • Goals and objectives
    • Financial targets
    • Client satisfaction metrics
    • Trends that may impact operational efficiency
    • Conformance with laws/regulations
    • Staffing levels
  • Oversee strategic initiatives as outlined by Business Development and Leadership Team.
  • Review and coordinate regional business development efforts, proposals, etc.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with upper-level decision makers (councils, mayors, city managers, state associations).
  • Coordinate office, state, and regional-level reporting.
  • Oversee project plans and resource allocation for large projects and initiatives.
  • Drive profitability while extracting cost out of the region.
  • 40-50% travel required within region.
 
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Ability to manage responsibilities and priorities in a fast paced, growth oriented and time-critical environment, across a given market
  • Ability to respond, interact, and collaborate with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent presentation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems and applications required.
  • Ability to demonstrate independent initiative, make sound decisions using effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Effective ability to develop interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to develop and present comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both written and verbal) in a professional manner.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • B.S or B.A. degree required. 
  • 10+ years of management experience required. 
  • Local government or construction management experience preferred.
