Culmen International LLC is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to work in support of a federal government customer. The Deputy will work alongside the Project Manager providing programmatic and technical support services for the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA) Front Office's Data Analytics Engines (DA-E) program.  All work will be performed on-site.
 
DA-E applies leading-edge computational data analytics research and development (R&D) techniques to enable user-focused, data-driven solutions for DHS missions. DA-E is the crosscutting Science and Technology (S&T) resource for subject matter expertise and technical capabilities in data storage, security, computation, analysis, and visualization to the Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE1). The DA-E mission extends beyond data analysis to examining human interfaces between the end-users and the technology and helping document and develop business cases for data-directed investments. DA-E also cultivates and maintains relationships within S&T, the HSE, and other partners to ensure successful transition of the best, cost-effective solutions.
 
Role and responsibilities include:
  • Develop a DA-E master schedule to track DA-E actions and program schedules including the preparation and submission of a milestone brief.
  • Report on the status of DA-E’s R&D programs through a bi-monthly consolidated, written report and to support meetings and teleconferences including cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Deliver weekly program and project highlights on DA-E work.
  • Document recommendations resulting from SME deliberations related to topics including, but not limited to, technical concepts, technical approaches, and execution paths for DA-E research and development programs.
Requirements include:
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Current security clearance (minimum Secret).
  • Current DHS Suitability or ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in a lead/project management role supporting a federal government program.
  • Experience leading diverse teams of support personnel and SMEs in a dynamic environment.
  • Prior management responsibilities to manage cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Ability to produce and brief contracted deliverables including milestone briefs, technical reports, and project status reports / briefs.
  • Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC.
  • Flexible to travel, if required.  Any travel anticipated for this position is expected to be minimal and not a defined percentage of time.
  • Flexible timetable to start work in a new position - DHS Suitability approval is required in order to start work.
