Summary: Assists with utility duties related to food preparation and with maintenance/cleaning duties in the central kitchen, and drives truck or van over established route to deliver meals to Head Start centers by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operate agency vehicle/s safely and follow all traffic laws to deliver meals to appropriate center locations.
Ensure vehicle is in safe working condition by conducting daily checks as indicated on the Indiana Family Resources Vehicle Inspection form, and complete the necessary pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle used.
Maintain accurate records about the daily operations of the vehicle, as well as the daily transportation and service of meals/supplies to the centers on your route.
Load meals, supplies, and carriers from central kitchen onto truck or van.
Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected / unused food.
Maintain sanitary condition of food during transit and during delivery.
Keep vehicle clean.
Work with others in the central kitchen to maintain safe and sanitary conditions.
Assist in cleaning and sanitizing sinks, dishes, kitchen cambros and kitchen utensils.
Continuously evaluate the quality of food service delivery, and communicate with the Food Service Supervisor to initiate improvements as needed.
Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.

Education and/or Experience:                                                  
High School Diploma or GED required. Previous related experience driving a commercial vehicle preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Driver's License and/or CDL
