Laboratory Technician I

Summary: Conduct chemistry procedures using equipment in a large chemistry laboratory performing both wet and instrument chemistry techniques for a variety of analytical purposes to achieve and maintain BQ9000 status.

  • Monitor product quality to ensure compliance to standards and specifications.
  • Compile and interpret results of tests and analyses.
  • Prepare chemical solutions for products and processes following standardized formulas, or create experimental formulas.
  • Maintain, clean, and sterilize laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Write technical reports or prepare graphs and charts to document experimental results.
  • Conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of raw material, chemical intermediates, and products.
  • Assist the Lead Laboratory Technician, Technical Director and Plant Manager in any other tasks as necessary.

Employment Standards:
  • Education – High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Bachelors in Chemistry or related degree preferred.  
  • Experience – Six Months to one year related lab experience.
