Provide technical/troubleshooting support to customers as well as the coordination of Field Service Engineers to repair Krauss Maffei equipment.

Essential Functions

Responsible for effectively leading the strategic initiatives and managing employees within the Service department.

 Primary customer contact for service and support.

 Provide phone support to identify customer issues.

 Works with Project Managers and Sales Managers to effectively schedule service engineers to meet customer needs

 Follow-up with customer service related issues to insure satisfaction from the customer.

 Coordinate personnel for in-house work with shop floor personnel during mechanical & electrical assembly, when appropriate

 Meets with appropriate personnel to determine issues and performs tests and diagnostics to determine source cause and take corrective action.

 Support Spare Parts Department with identifying parts.

 Document and record service related issues via SAP notifications and service orders

 Provide service estimates for customers

 Review and submit billable service visits for invoicing

 Accessible after normal business hours for customer support 24/7

 Move machinery information in SAP to appropriate address with proper sold to and ship to information.

 Process credit card orders for customers with CC terms.

 Work with new customers to establish new accounts

Supervisory Responsibility

This position directly manages employees in the Service department and is responsible for the performance management, hiring, coaching/mentoring and effective leadership of the employees within the department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment in our Florence facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines which create low-moderate noise.

 The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

 Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 Ability to work in a constant state of alertness required.

Expected Hours of Work

This is an hourly, non-exempt, full-time position with standard working days/hours of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with paid overtime as necessary to complete required tasks.


Travel is negligible, but is primarily local and during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel is possible. Travel to Germany or other international locations, while not likely, is possible for training/conferences.

Required Education and Experience

Associates Degree in Technical field.

 Related experienced in the electrical field, preferably as a Field Service Engineer or Technician.

Preferred Education and Experience

Thorough understanding of machinery processes to include robotic equipment, operations and installations.

 Strong Mechanical / Electrical aptitude

 Solid technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
