GENERAL SUMMARY
The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) is a non-profit medical professional society of influential scientists, academicians, researchers, clinicians, government representatives, and industry leaders from around the world dedicated to improving cancer patient outcomes by advancing the science and application of cancer immunotherapy. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager for the Early Career Scientist (ECS) and Professional Development Education Programs and working closely with the society’s Education Department, society leadership and appropriate committees, the Education Coordinator aides in the successful implementation of the education efforts of the Society through coordination of the Society’s educational programs for early career scientists and serving as a primary point of contact for inquiries pertaining to the Society’s early career educational offerings.
 
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (37.5 hours/week):
General Education Support
  • Coordinate the planning of designated educational and training programs as assigned
  • Coordinate, implement and document Education team conference calls and internal meetings
  • Serve as the primary source for education inquiries by fielding general education calls and monitoring the education informational email inboxes
  • Serve as a resource for committee members and volunteer faculty
  • Monitor and update contact information for Education volunteers and committees including email distribution lists, membership database activities and committee/task force rosters
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff to develop Education leadership updates and reports
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff for distribution of Education broadcast emails
  • Assist with faculty correspondence and tracking for Society educational activities
  • Assist Education team with updates to Society website and communications
  • Coordinate the development and distribution of all educational meeting materials, such as final programs, syllabi, etc.
  • Coordinate the administrative timelines for the Education team, working with appropriate staff to update project management tools with applicable information on timelines, progress updates, reminders, etc.
  • Provide assistance with onsite assistance at live education programs, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. Word processing and spreadsheet skills in MS Office environment essential. Professional demeanor and attention to detail necessary including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with using databases for tracking and reporting, web-meeting services and learning management systems technologies a plus.
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Travel of up to 3 weeks per year
  • Some evening and weekend work as needed
  • Occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds
