Program Manager

REPORTS TO:Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships
STATUS: Exempt (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week)

The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) is a non-profit medical professional society of influential scientists, academicians, researchers, clinicians, government representatives, and industry leaders from around the world dedicated to improving cancer patient outcomes by advancing the science and application of cancer immunotherapy. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships, the Program Manager will assist the society through management of events and efforts associated with the society’s global and data science strategic partnerships, as well as serving as in integral member towards the implementation of SITC’s strategic priorities. Primary responsibilities include program planning support and implementation, assistance in the development of materials within the scope of SITC strategic initiatives, and maintaining stakeholder relationships by serving as a resource and providing effective and timely communication.

  • In collaboration with the Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships and appropriate organizing committees, volunteer leaders, collaborative partners and relative staff, provide project management for targeted educational programming with global immunotherapy access and data science relevance, that aim to provide timely education, information and networking opportunities
  • Assist in the development of appropriate proposals for programming associated with SITC global collaboration and data science activities
  • Under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships, maintain and abide by overall policies, procedures and timelines in areas of responsibility
  • Work with the Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships and the Development team to develop and update funding materials for associated programs, including providing required program information, attendee data, grant compliance and reconciliation requirements
  • With assistance by the Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships and the Marketing team, develop marketing strategies and materials as it relates to areas of responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for stakeholders and committees associated with SITC global access and data science strategic priorities
  • Provide support for strategic partners, committees and collaborators by scheduling conference calls, creating agendas and taking minutes, among other duties
  • Monitor and update contact information for volunteers and committees including email distribution lists, membership database activities and committee/task force rosters
  • Manage stakeholder correspondence, tracking and compliance, and collection of documentation for conflict of interest identification and resolution
  • Manage and update associated program information as needed including on the SITC website as well as within internal documents
  • Contribute to budget monitoring and tracking/trending reports in areas of responsibility
  • Monitor relevant news items in relation to SITC strategic priorities
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications - Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. Word processing and spreadsheet skills in MS Office environment essential. Professional demeanor and attention to detail necessary including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with using databases for tracking and reporting, web-meeting services and learning management systems technologies a plus
Education - Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience - 2-5 years of experience required. Previous association management experience, previous meeting management experience and familiarity with nonprofit boards of directors a plus


Possible travel of up to 4 weeks per year
Some evening and weekend work as needed
Occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds required
