POSITION REPORTS TO: Senior Education Manager, SRS
EMPLOYEE STATUS: Exempt
 
GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Senior Education Manager, the Education Manager provides general management of the abstract database and selection process for SRS meetings, speaker management, management of the Awards and Scholarships program, and management of web-based education programs.  
 
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week):
  • Work closely with other staff and with SRS Committees to perform assessments of the educational needs of SRS.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of webinars, webcasts, and web-based education, including program planning, faculty development, and planning and implementation of education via web based platforms and in conjunction with EDI support services as needed.
  • Manage abstract submission system for Annual Meeting and IMAST, including set-up, the editing process, and working with Program and IMAST committees on selection and development of scientific programs.
  • Directs speaker correspondence for educational activities including speaker invitation letters, confirmation of participation, permission forms, and post-meeting reimbursements and certificates.
  • Manages the income of award applications. Facilitates with winners to develop fellowship visits which includes assisting with selecting host sites, booking housing/flights, extra-curricular activities, and hospital paperwork.
  • Works with Meetings Team as needed on tasks for two annual conferences, including registration assistance on-site.
  • Serves as Staff Liaison for assigned committees, including scheduling conference calls, preparing meeting minutes, assisting with correspondence and projects, and other tasks as needed
AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: (total weeks per year): Two to four weeks per year, including international. Some weekend and evening work may be required.
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated 1-3 years of office experience. Experience in working with associations or medical background preferred. Excellent writing and organizational skills, good oral communication skills. Good problem solving and critical thinking skills a must. Ability to work independently but as part of a small, strong team. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to move freely around annual meeting site, tolerance for occasional long hours, some packaging and lifting up to 50 pounds.
