The corporate office is located in the Cool Springs area of Franklin, TN. The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for checking patient eligibility and insurance plan benefits. Includes utilizing online resources, calling insurance companies, and completion of benefit investigation form in EMR system. We are looking for someone upbeat to join the team.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Check patient eligibility and insurance plan benefits via online payer portals and outgoing calls to the insurance plan
  • Completion of benefit verification form in EMR system
  • Following the department procedures to ensure timely completion of benefit investigations
  • Communication with internal Patient Financial Services Staff and external practice managers when inaccurate demographic information is supplied
  • Review and update demographic and insurance information in the EMR system
  • Supports and actively participates in initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.
  • Other duties as assigned, and in keeping with Prelude's policies, procedures, compliance, standards of patient care and/or initiatives toward continuous improvement at the individual and organizational level.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college preferred
  • 1-3 years’ work experience in similar or related position or other office environment
