New England Fertility Institute offers patients customized treatment plans developed by medical experts who are interested in helping individuals and couples with their fertility needs. The Connecticut location makes New England Fertility Institute easily accessible those coming from New York.
 
We are currently looking for a Financial Counselor to join the team. The Financial Counselor would aid in a number of front office and billing activities. A major function of this position would be Financial Counseling for new and existing patients. This means itting down with patients face to face or explaining over the phone the estimated cost of services offered. Desired candidates would have a strong understanding of medical billing and insurance, be able to work well with others and have strong communications skills. The Financial Counselor should be able to explain the patients' potential financial commitments in a way that is sensitive, kind, and easy to understand. We are committed to making every part of the experience as enjoyable as possible. Money, billing, insurance conversations are not always the most fun but if handled correctly they can go a long way in ensuring our patient's have the level of customer service/ patient experience that we expect.
 
Essential Responsibilities:
 
 
  • Check in and out patients including any collection of fees
  • Meets with Patients for financial counseling
  • Maintain accurate payment information in patient record. Communicate with the Nurse Coordinator/Finance Team regarding status of patient treatment options.
  • Prepare refund check requests and properly documented such requests before passing them on for approval by the Practice Manager.
  • Strong follow-up and organization skills.
  • Answers phone
  • Obtains Pre-certifications and Prior Authorizations
  • Submitting claims to insurance
  • Posting payments, processing checks as needed
  • Responsible for daily deposits
  • Answer billing questions form patients as needed
  • Respond to patient calls/correspondence regarding billing questions, financial policies, claims submission, etc.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays, on a rotating basis with other teammates
  • Ability to travel as needed to the other two locations
Experience/ Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college preferred
  • Fertility clinic experience preferred
  • 1-3 years work experience in similar or related position or other office environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
