What We Are Looking For:
Hard working and dedicated individual with at least one year experience in floor cleaning.  This individual will clean and maintain hard floor and carpeted floor surfaces in the optimal condition.  They will also be responsible for cleaning designated areas to promote environmental safety as well as staff and resident satisfaction.
Under general direction, scrub, shine, clean and repair carpeted and non- carpeted area using appropriate equipment and chemicals. This job includes moving large furniture and objects and following safety guidelines to prevent injury to themselves and others. Environmental Services may, at some time, be required to perform any of the essential functions below according to the needs of St. Joseph Home.
  • Perform all assigned task in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
  • Performs cleaning and maintenance of all floors - tile, brick and wood laminate flooring.
  • Empties and disinfects trash cans and replaces liners through out the facility including break rooms, resident rooms, offices, etc.
  • Refills cleaning supplies as needed in cottages as well as stocks Housekeeping cupboard and cleaning cart.  Maintains cleanliness of housekeeping cart and any cleaning equipment or supplies used, i.e., mop heads, buckets, rags, etc.  Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all department equipment as well and reporting any equipment failures or problems to supervisor.  Must demonstrate an understanding of housekeeping equipment.
  • Adheres to all Department cleaning schedules and follows procedures as outlined in the department procedures manual in conjunction with facility Infection Control procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all medical information in accordance with HIPAA regulation.
  • Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
  • Observe safety precautions at all times, uses safety signs “wet floor”.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
