The Ann Arbor office of Lord Aeck Sargent is seeking an accomplished, highly motivated full-time urban designer with strong design and business development experience to develop and lead a wide range of urban design projects.  The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a good sense of humor and ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with many people at all levels of the firm.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
·         Must have an accredited advanced degree in Architecture, Urban Design and/or Landscape Architecture
·         In addition to the above, a degree in City/Urban Planning is a plus but not required
·         Professional registration (US) in architecture or landscape architecture and/or AICP certification
·         LEED accreditation is a plus but not required
·         Must have 10-15 years direct urban design experience in a design office environment
Knowledge and Skillset Required
·         Strong business development skills are a must. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to pursue, win and manage urban design projects at variety of scales and project/client types
·         Excellent client relationship skills and experience
·         Strong urban design skills (Portfolio required for consideration. Send a link or upload a file less than 5MB)
·         Must be comfortable in community and public settings and in collaborative design environments
·         Strong oral and written communication skills
·         Strong project management skills including guiding urban design processes and products, managing and mentoring junior Urban Designers, working to budgets and deadlines, and contract responsibilities
·         Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP and Microsoft Office (ArcGIS/AutoCAD/Revit not required but is a plus)
·         Proficient with a variety of rendering, modeling and hand drawing techniques
·         Interest in sustainability, innovation, place-making and community design
