Reporting to the National Medical Sales Manager, the Medical Sales Representative for Atlantic Canada is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with medical practitioners (predominantly GP’s and some Specialists) and cannabis clinic staff throughout their territory as defined by Cannabis Act. The Medical Sales Representative will reach mutually agreed upon business targets through effective management of designated territories and physical visits with medical practitioners. The incumbent will continually maintain a professional image of the company, acting with integrity, passion, and utilizing exceptional inter-personal and presentational skills.  The territory includes all HCPs throughout the Atlantic (Nova Scotia/New Brunswick/PEI/Newfoundland) region.
 
 
This is currently a 12-month sales position with the possibility of an extension and/or becoming permanent.
 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Organize territory, develop and adhere to plan to maximize face-to-face meetings
  • Develop strategies that will increase lead opportunities in the territory
  • Attend and represent Tilray at appropriate event conferences (these may be outside of territory)
  • Maintain reports and records
  • Accurately complete daily and weekly administrative tasks as assigned
  • Attend company meetings, teleconferences, as required
  • Knowledge of Health Canada’s Cannabis Act, and remain current on all aspects of medical cannabis

Qualifications 

  • Must have a Bachelor degree preferably in science or business
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ direct work experience in sales with demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals (health care sales is preferred)
  • Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance with proven experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management
  • Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers
  • Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills with a demonstrable ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with medical practitioners
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills along with excellent listening skills
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work individually and as part of a team, with high energy, excellent work ethic and possess an engaging level of enthusiasm

  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel within territory (including regular weekly stayovers outside of residence city) and periodically across Canada to attend conferences, meetings (including Nanaimo, B.C.)
  • Must have the proven ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications and preference given to experience with customer relationship management software
  • Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures
  • Driver’s License in good standing with a clean driving record and access to own vehicle
  • Have a permanent home residence in territory
