Electrician - Temporary up to 12 months
 
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Electrician is responsible for all construction tasks involving Boilers, Chillers, Heat Recovery Unit, Circulation Pumps, Room sensors, Lighting tests, AHU’s and, generally, all the critical equipment related to construction projects.
 
 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems
  • Ensure work is done and completed to ESA standards
  • Installing greenhouse electrical systems
  • Installing and repairing lighting fixtures and equipment, including switches and circuit breakers
  • Connecting power to communications equipment, signaling devices and heating and cooling systems
  • Troubleshooting electronic systems and replacing faulty components
  • Working on Aerial work platforms
  • Troubleshoot and install motor starters and control
  • Read, interpret, and alter electrical schematics
  • Prepare worksite
  • Fabricate support structures
  • Perform start up and shut down procedures
  • Organize materials and supplies
  • Performs commissioning and decommissioning of systems
  • Plans project tasks and proposes or follows procedures
  • Use electrical test equipment and digital technology to ensure system safety, functionality and compatibility

Qualifications and Education requirements

  • Must have valid 309A Electrical License
  • Demonstrated training and competency in aerial work platform and fall arrest training  
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years related experience
  • Proven understanding of motor starters and control is required
  • Proven ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure with a strong attention to detail
  • Must be organized and able to document all work
  • Strong communication skills to negotiate, coordinate and facilitate work required
  • Mechanical aptitude to install, diagnose and repair systems and components is required
