Reporting to the Logistics Lead the Distribution Supervisor will be responsible for all inter-company movement of materials and the deployment of finished goods.  They will work closely with logistics, production and project teams to ensure a smooth flow of material through the facility .  The successful candidate will also manage an internal team to analyze our go to market strategy and work with our 3rd party transportation companies to deliver a cost effective and customer focused delivery solution.
Roles and responsibilities
  • Procure Transportation and Logistics services for the High park group of companies
  • Working closely with internal customers and stakeholders to understand the spend requirements and trends in order to build a process for supply that avoids shortages or over investment
  • Handle requests for movement across multiple sites for services, site to site transfers, customer schedules
  • Lead RFP’s for Truckload (TL), Less-than-Truckload (LTL), Air Ocean, and intermodal requirements
  • Work with internal stakeholders to gather lane-data (origin/destination, volumes, weights, etc.)
  • Recruit and manage a high performing internal team to focus on continuous improvement, the efficient use of company assets, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction
  • Ensure claims process is clearly defined and managed
  • Analyze the spending patterns and identify cost saving opportunities
  • Support other Procurement Specialists in other verticals as required
  • Lead RFP’s for off-site warehousing and logistics activities prices
  • Evaluate key suppliers on a regular basis , including on-time delivery and claims percentage
  • Ability to prioritize tasks while working in a fast paced, just in time environment
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a logistics or supply chain program, plus 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in food manufacturing industry.
