Packaging Associate
 
Reporting to the Packaging Engineer, the Packaging Associate will work in conjunction with multiple departments to ensure our packaging processes and materials are optimized and robust. The Packaging Associate aids in the ongoing improvement of High Park packaging processes/systems.
 
 Role and Responsibilities

In conjunction with the Engineer make recommendations to optimizing the lines from a packaging perspective
Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop robust packaging and material specifications
Ensuring the effective execution of packaging tasks within established company policy, procedure and requirements (Safety, Quality, Compliance)
Learning to work at a level of performance identifiable with world class organizations with the goal of continuous process improvement every day
Identify and communicate with Manufacturing Manager any packaging issues/concerns
Lead package labeling process communication on a global scale
Monitor and recommend improvements in processes to increase efficiency/minimize risk of error
Ensure compliance for unit bar code labels, the case bar-code labels and what operations and shipping needs for each province and specific customers
Managing labeling development projects, liaising with QA, Legal, R&D, Operations, Procurement, Suppliers and Key Customers
Participating in new labeling equipment selection and technical validation
Ensure all packaging specifications are kept up to date in a centrally located file, as well as are updated and maintained in Acumatica
Collaborate with the sales department to create printed sales samples 
 
 
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Post-secondary education in packaging or a related field required
A minimum of five years prior experience working in a food or health care industry in packaging processing and with packaging equipment
Ability to work in a results oriented, challenging environment
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft applications
Positive outlook, willingness to learn and contribute to company success
Maintain confidentiality and attain necessary skills/competencies 
Ability to take direction and follow all company policies/procedures
Dependable and punctual
Positive contribution and personal commitment/responsibility
