The Trade Marketing Manager Western Canada (TMM) will be responsible for the western trade marketing business from all perspectives.  Will be the key liaison with Senior Marketing contacts at Cannabis Boards and private retail across western Canada.  Success will be the trade marketing manager west negotiating all aspects of the promotional plan with the ability to ensure our partners deliver on their strategic objectives while also delivering revenue and profitability for High Park through trade marketing plans.  TMM West will work in conjunction with the RSM on building business plans for all key external partners and affiliates and will have a seat at the table for all presentations and pitches.  This position will need to have the ability to take a leadership role among the senior western commercial team and work independently will minimal direction.  In addition, the TMM west will be accountable to tracking program performance and measuring profitability to determine overall promotional efficiency. The TMM west should be the subject matter expert on all  shopper marketing research and insights for all partners and internal Western Canada counterparts to ensure our shopper principles always come to life in market as well as help our partners develop more robust shopper focused programming, tools and strategies.  TMM west will be responsible for all cross functional communication between manufacturing, supply, marketing, sales and the data team to ensure there is always cross functional synergies for Western Canada trade marketing.   

Role and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for 6+MM trade marketing budget & profitability analysis
  • SME for shopper research and insights delivery to retail partners
  • Lead on developing all trade marketing programs and plans for Western Canada
  • Develop, procure and implement first in class retail sales tools and merchandising tool kits that drive revenue, profit and awareness
  • Maintain a clear line of communication between yourself and the Regional Business Manager with the objective of continuously collaborating to win in market
  • Lead the cross functional integration and communication for brand marketing, supply chain, manufacturing, and the analytics team to ensure targets are delivered and key dates are met
  • Will be responsible for co-ordinator development and management when hired with full development plans to ensure growth
  • Play a key role in negotiation with cannabis board and private retail partners for investment and programming approvals
  • Responsible for all analytics with regards to promo tracking Western Canada and reporting to National Trade Director

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Commerce
  • Minimum of 5 years of trade marketing and/or sales experience within a packaged goods, beverage alcohol, pharmaceutical or related industry
  • Experience in Key Account Management with a focus on government operations such as the BCLDB or AGLC is an asset
  • Experience leading people and/or a team in an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years of budget management experience is preferred
  • Shopper marketing research experience an asset
  • Innovative, creative and forward thinker
  • Superior cross functional communication skills (spoke, written, comprehension)
  • Strong time management and results driven
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in identifying root causes and building appropriate actions
  • The willingness to balance both office hours and meaningful time in market
  • Entrepreneurial in spirit while also leveraging the assets that come from being a part of a global company
