Reporting to the ANZ Business Director (BD), the National MSL & Marketing Manager will create Australia and New Zealand’s long and short-term sales plan to develop the medical cannabis market and realize sustainable, profitable growth. The Manager will develop and inspire a lean and high-performing national sales team that strives for greater levels of excellence at a national level. This means Tilray meets and even exceeds our distribution targets and revenue growth targets by generating awareness, influencing and educating our customers, developing sales strategies, maintaining budget/sales forecasts and managing the overall execution of the sales plan.
 
Role and Responsibilities
  • Create a clear picture of what success looks like
  • Collaborative develop goals and actions the sales teams can get excited about
  • Inspire, coach and provide feedback as to how the team is progressing towards achieving Tilray’s objectives
  • Monitor the market to observe emerging trends and competition, determine methods to be leaders in the industry
  • Generate awareness around the Tilray brand
  • Oversee all functions of the sales lifecycle including sales forecasting, direct relationship management and development, negotiation of buying agreements and lead conversion, deal evaluations, and approvals
  • Develop annual and quarterly revenue plans, prepare monthly sales reports by product and channel to evaluate brand and product performance and develop annual and quarterly sales plans
  • Understand and provide insights on sales drivers and recommend new opportunities to drive incremental growth
  • Attend and organise Tilray sponsorship of industry trade shows, conferences, conventions, and other professional events in an effort to stay current on industry trends as well as to interact with potential and existing customers
  • Partner with Finance and Operations on the following activities: forecasting activities, developing revenue targets, budgeting and developing sales operations processes and compensation plans
  • Work with international Tilray branding and marketing teams to develop advertising strategy and leverage activities in line with TGA & Medsafe promotional guidelines
 
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • 5 years of building and managing a national sales force
  • Pharmaceutical Brand management experience
  • Experience in working in the NZ an advantage but not essential
  • Preference will be given to sales experience in pharmaceuticals and/or selling to healthcare professionals
  • Bachelor’s degree MBA preferred
  • Respected leader
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about how medical cannabis can improve the lives of patients
  • Ability to drive and manage hyper growth in an emerging market
  • Demonstrated ability of creating a successful network and referral-based sales tactics
  • Experience with cultivating centers of influence within a variety of business
  • Self-motivated, disciplined and highly driven to meet goals and deadlines – high activity orientation
  • Effective communication, sales and presentation skills
  • Ability to initiate change and manage varying priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrable success in consumer products and/or pharmaceutical companies focused on the wants and needs of consumers
