Role and Responsibilities

  • Fostering and role modeling a positive attitude; outlook, willingness to learn and contributing to company success in their teams
  • Ensuring the effective execution of tasks within established company policy, procedure and requirements (Safety, Quality, Compliance)
  • Train, coach and mentor team members to ensure a safe and productive work environment
  • Identify and communicate with Manufacturing Supervisor any plant concerns 
  • Effectively prepare machines for the start of a production cycle
  • Expertly adjust and control settings of equipment (e.g. speed)
  • Assist team with feeding raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Assess and ensure proper operation of machines periodically
  • Manage output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Meticulously keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain detailed activity logs to ensure excellent productivity and Health Canada Compliance
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical degree is an asset
  • Proven experience as a machine operator, minimum 6 months
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding of production procedures
  • Reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards
  • Willingness to learn and improve
  • Being a leader is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Analytical skills
