Manufacturing Manager
 
Reporting to the General Manager, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing the Manufacturing activities and the development of policies and procedures designed to increase productivity, assure quality, and mitigate production problems. To this end, the Manufacturing Manager will improve throughput and other in-house processes with the objective of reducing overall costs and enhancing quality.
 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Managing the company’s manufacturing operational activities to ensure maximum effectiveness is obtained for the production of quality products within specified time and budgetary guidelines
  • Providing direction to manufacturing leads and manufacturing work cells
  • Scheduling multiple shift labor force to ensure production schedule is completed on time and produced to strict quality standards
  • Maintaining staffing levels and developing operational stability with a focus on strategic redundancy and succession planning
  • Ensuring the effective execution of goals, targets and objectives with established company policy, procedure and requirements (Safety, Quality, Compliance & KPI’s)
  • Identifying areas for waste reduction and process flow improvements
  • Inventory management and reporting on any discrepancies
  • Developing and maintaining effective cost control measures and maintaining budget
  • Participating in, and following up on, staff performance improvement plans
  • Identifying relevant training needs and training opportunities for all levels of staff
  • Performing crew talks as required and following employee discipline procedures through human resources
 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a GMP manufacturing (or similar certification) site
  • Post-secondary education in related field is an asset
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is an asset
  • Strong inventory and manufacturing management skills
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors, and internal departments
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker
  • Able to interface directly with cross functional teams
  • Ability to create and review technical documentation, Inc. project plans and design specifications
  • Able to develop, review, and maintain metrics and audits
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, Inc. solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Proven ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications
Must have the ability to obtain A/RPIC status as per Health Canada Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations
