Reporting to Manager, IT Business Applications, Sr. Business Analyst, Finance Applications, the Sr. Business Analyst is the person who provides the knowledge, skills, tools and techniques used to achieve project objectives within agreed upon parameters of quality, cost, schedule and constraints within the ERP (Acumatica). This position is to work with IT Applications to determine best practices and identify areas of improvement, in which they will work with other individuals on the team or vendors to provide a solution; these solutions are intended to be implemented enterprise wide for consistency.
Roles and responsibilities
  • Organize an array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis, coping with rapidly changing information
  • Elicit high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those who must base their work on requirements
  • Scope Management – Defining, breaking down scope of work (Project scope); managing project trade-offs
  • Communications Management – Communication planning (team, customer/sponsor, users, stakeholders), project status reporting
  • Project planning/Tracking/Change Control – Integration and synchronizing project plans; setting up procedures and systems for managing and tracking change across the enterprise
  • Risk Management – Facilitating, driving team risk management process; maintaining risk documentation
  • Ability to prepare and present project data
  • Understanding of the Solution Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Understanding of US GAAP and the application of the guiding principles
  • >3 years’ experience in an accounting based position
  • >3 years’ experience in a business analyst role
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems and willingness to understand Tilray’s ERP
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • Formal project management or business analyst training is an asset
  • Willingness to work in a highly flexible environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Willingness to provide Financial best practices/understanding to Jr. members of the team
