Reporting to the Master Planner, the Detailed Scheduling Planner is responsible for creating, maintaining and forecasting the view of total workload for the production team while identifying capacity imbalances or bottlenecks and proposing solutions.
 
 
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor plant activities and assist with problems as necessary to meet planned production schedules and to ensure product quality standards are maintained
  • Create and maintain the view of the total workload for the production team
  • Identify capacity imbalances or bottlenecks, and propose solutions. Identify and forecast when and where additional resources are required
  • Monitor progress in each area, updating the schedule, planning boards and addressing any slippage
  • Review the production schedule with the Production and Purchasing leaders to ensure the schedule is on track
  • Manage and approve all changes to the Production workload, reflecting the urgency of parts orders, engineering changes and new orders
  • Determine raw material requirements and status necessary components to support production schedule working with procurement
  • Responsible for the development, reporting, and execution of production scheduling, capacity planning (level loading - internal, S&OP targets, and the development of control measures to prevent shortages
  • Coordinate the crewing of multiple production lines and classification to ensure the manufacturing department is able to operate effectively and efficiently
  • Work directly with the Manufacturing Manager/Area Leaders to review work order status and update plans to ensure customer deliveries are on time and complete
  • Maintain time fences and a formal change control process to review all unplanned requests
  • Develop Monthly Sales and Operations Planning forecasts to determine capacity plans and balance customer demand with working capital and financial objectives
  • Work with Logistics to provide shipment completions and targeted manufacturing dates
  • Work with Industrial Engineer to incorporate pilot requirements into overall schedule

​QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • University Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 7-10+ years previous work experience in planning, procurement, manufacturing, or scheduling
  • Strong analytical skills – be able to relate & compare, securing meaningful information and identifying key issues
  • Demonstrate scheduling expertise, critical thinking, and successful leadership
  • Strong decision-making and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence
  • Demonstrate initiative and lateral thinking for problem solving
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and have a sense of urgency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Familiarity with (local) regulations and GMP is desirable
