Reporting to the Senior Manager, Purchasing, the Purchasing Analyst will be provide support to the team by conducting market research and in-depth data analysis. The Analyst will identify trends from category strategies, generate reports and make recommendations. Additionally, will prepare procurement documents and conducts full-cycle procurement on moderately complex projects and contract administration to support clients’ business needs. The Analyst will build strong relationships with our suppliers and partners. Performs other related duties as required.
 
 
Roles and Responsibilities 
  • Assist in sourcing process with existing and/or new suppliers (if applicable) mainly by requesting bids as necessary, evaluating quotation against defined criteria
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand the spend requirements, and trends in-order-to build a process for supply.
  • Responds to requests for purchases across multiple sites and the provisioning of requirements in Canada
  • Track orders and form system lead times, delivery dates, and costs while providing visibility of potential interruptions and present mitigating actions
  • Analyze the spending patterns, discover cost saving opportunities
  • Support Senior Manager, Purchasing in other verticals as required
  • Participate in product development activities to find suppliers and get prices
  • Evaluate key suppliers on a regular basis
  • Participate in the contract process to ensure proper coverage
  • Carefully track and update order statuses
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a degree program, preferably in Business Administration or Management, Economics, Logistics / Supply Chain Management OR Post-secondary education in Procurement, Supply Chain or related filed
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience
  • A completed Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) certification or other recognized purchasing certification program is considered an asset.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. MS Office, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and in PeopleSoft purchasing module or the equivalent)
  • Knowledge of sourcing requirement and practices
  • Solid negotiation and consulting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong (oral, written) communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
  • Strong project coordination and management skills.
  • Solid customer service, organizational and time management skills.
  • Work in a very fast paced environment
  • Able to prioritize tasks
