Reporting to the Processing Manager, the Processing Supervisor (Extracts) will be responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of Tilray processing systems in strict compliance with Health Canada’s Access to Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR). This position is responsible for supervising all Extracts Processing Leads and Technicians to ensure an optimal balance of quality and efficiency in accordance with company core values, policies and procedures.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Processing schedule and promoting first time right and on time delivery of each Processing activity
  • Implementing process flow plans and aiding in the creation of department specific SOP’s and MBR’s
  • Ensuring integration of good manufacturing practices (GMP) into all Processing activities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GMP quality systems and on site QA/QC programs
  • Assist in full transition of new processes and products into production
  • Ability to train and coach front-line workers in problem-solving techniques and on-the-spot troubleshooting
  • Ability to follow and administer departmental job task observation’s
  • Responsible for administering stage one progressive discipline, and managing absenteeism
  • Understand and maintain the inventory tracking of raw materials, consumables and production outputs
  • Responsible for maintaining and submitting time cards, tracking vacation requests and attendance
  • Ability to Supervise all Extracts processing rooms with an emphasis on improved efficiencies, waste reduction and process flow improvements
  • Responsible for keeping all processing SOP’s and MBR's current and relevant
  • Responsible for the completion of all required processing paperwork including, master batch records, inventory summaries, sanitation reports, and maintenance work orders
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to collaborate with Human Resources to interview and hire candidates
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results oriented, challenging environment
  • Coordinating and delivering regular toolbox talks
  • Working with the Processing Manager on the details of departmental crew talks
  • Able to identify, address, and mitigate safety hazards and risks with new processes and equipment
  • Perform direct labor tasks as needed to support achievement of team’s performance targets


  • Post-Secondary Education in related field or 5 years of processing experience with a minimum of 3 years in a Supervisory position
  • Knowledge of and experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Highly motivated and capable of multi-tasking, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Able to interface directly with cross functional teams
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills 
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Ability to create a “team first” culture with strong work ethics
  • Ability to lead a team of up to 12 hourly staff to effectively execute the production schedule
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and to speak effectively before groups of employees within the organization.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,)
  • Must be able to obtain A/RPIC status as per Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations
