We are seeking a Communications Intern to work in our Toronto office.
Position Summary:
We’re looking for a motivated, dynamic and talented intern to join our global corporate affairs team, based in our Toronto office. Reporting to the Sr. Communications Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to work with all members of the global corporate affairs team by providing day-to-day support on internal and external communications across the company.
The internship will be four months long, starting as early as September 2019. This is a paid internship.
  • Provide day-to-day strategic support to key functions of the global corporate affairs team including corporate communications, brand communications, internal communications, social media, public relations and more.
  • Corporate communications and media relations support:
    • Daily media monitoring report
    • Maintain and update global media list
    • Media inquiry inbox coordination
    • Draft media briefing materials for executive leadership and other spokespersons
  • Internal communications affairs support:
    • Coordination of internal events
    • Support monthly editorial newsletter
  • Brand communications and activation support:
    • Assist in coordination of brand launches and events
    • Inclusive of medical and adult-use brands
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Applicant must have a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or similar subject
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and work with a team
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic corporate environment
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Previous public relations, corporate affairs or communications experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry is an asset
