Reporting to the Director of Emerging Markets Asia Pacific, the APAC Operations Manager will be responsible for the coordination of work to ensure the successful implementation of the Tilray group of company’s goals in the Asia Pacific Region
 
The APAC Operations Manager is responsible for all avenues of the Tilray supply, from Imports, Exports, demand and supply planning, 3PL management, Quality Management Systems, Customer service.
 
Role and Responsibilities 
  • Leading the Operations Team towards achieving desired results on the areas of Procurement, Logistics, Planning & Customer Delivery
  • Researching potential vendors and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers, this includes comparing and evaluating offers and negotiating contract terms of agreement and pricing
  • Managing external stakeholders across all divisions, including contract management, party engagement and delivery. Working closely with our teams in Canada to ensure all the relevant team members understand and contribute to the project
  • Working close with the Finance Controller to use financial models to identify development opportunities
  • Responsible for maintaining existing customers, identifying new business opportunities and signing up new customers through strategic planning and targeting and to drive new business growth on an APAC scale
  • Secure accounts and manage the expectations of these accounts to ensure a long term, sustainable relationship with our business
  • Driving a collaborative and forward-thinking culture across all divisions
  • Working with team members and management to complete duties as needed
  • Co-ordinate with Logistic/Warehouse team on delivering and managing KPIs reports and recommending process improvements
  • Creating and maintaining monthly Inventory Forecast, analyze the variance between actual and forecast, deliver inventory targets and SLAs
  • Closely working with Controller and Operations team on inventory standard costing and E&O provision process
  • Liaising with our team in Canada and report on key projects/ metrics
  • Stakeholder management and communication with all areas of the business. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
  • Preparing and delivering value-added commercial analysis to support our key decision makers across our organization
  • Understanding of the regulatory requirements for product Development into the market
  • Helping to directly negotiate deal points for more complex / higher value agreements, as well as coaching and advising APAC team members on best practices to maximise value
  • Working with external advisors including local lawyers, accountants, payroll and tax professionals to support the global operations team in defining & adhering to local requirements in the APAC region; e.g. scoping out new territories’ legal/financial implications, localising employment and competition terms, understanding local tax structures, etc.
  • Helping to evaluate & evolve processes & procedures across the above functions as the company continues to scale internationally
  • Overseeing the operations of the Sydney serviced office space and/or other offices in the APAC region; liaising with building managers or landlords regarding any office related issues
  • Being the primary APAC point of contact for IT team to keep track of international team’s assets (laptops, phones etc.) and to ensure required equipment provided
  • Liaising with local marketing teams and external service providers to ensure appropriate procedures are followed, as well as tracking delivery, performance / KPIs and invoicing schedules / debtor management
  • Run Multiple markets under multiple Companies in the Tilray Group with multiple manufacturing facilities.Manage Operations staff in all APAC regions until and Local entity or General manager is established, once established, mentor operations staff and develop intercompany forum for best practice
  • Continue to support the Tilray ANZ team and mentor staff on best practices, recruit the supply chain team in each country once established
  • Manage all Supply Chain and Operations staff for the APAC region. Manage, Lead, Develop and mentor this team, establish KPI’s and ensure that the APAC region meets both the local and company wide goals
  • Establish supply chain partners in each new market that meet the regulatory requirements of that country
  • Establish the operations and supply chain for Manitoba Harvest in Australia and New Zealand

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • ​Minimum of 10+ years leadership in a fast-paced supply chain
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Effective leadership and team building skills required
  • Demonstrated strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks, work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, and ensure timely completion of responsibilities needed.
  • Must be detailed oriented and possess effective problem solving skills.
  • Software experience required: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must be able to manage through a changing environment, including shifting priorities, multiple demands, and new or ambiguous situations
