Manufacturing Planner
 
Reporting to the Manager of Logistics, the Manufacturing Planner will be responsible for ensuring best practice(s) in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning and supply planning, with linkage to site financials. The incumbent will play a key role in the overall locations growth and inventory reduction strategies. This position will work closely with the functional leaders and site materials teams.  The Manufacturing Planner shall ensure that manufacturing schedules are created and completed on time, and within budget.      
 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Preparing production schedules and issuing all work orders per production schedule.
  • Participating with Material Requirement Planning improvements/implementation team.
  • Preparing and maintaining progress and other reports including Key Performance Indicators.
  • Reviewing long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommending appropriate action.
  • Increasing worker efficiency and production rates.
  • Leading the site operating plan process that looks long term at matching capacity with demand, lead-time and delivery performance.
  • Performing ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and high volume months.
 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management.
  • 5 years of experience as a planner, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Certified in Production & Inventory Management through APICS preferred.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of MPS/MRP, Demand Flow, JIT, Forecasting, Inventory Planning, Kanban, and Supply Chain design.
  • Experience with Acumatica software systems preferred.
  • Team player within cross functional, multi-disciplined team.
  • Strong knowledge Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to maintain filing systems, databases, and basic diary/minutes management.
  • Knowledge of local and federal regulations and ordinances.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule.
  • Strong customer service orientation and strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team.
