Reporting to the Creative Director, the Production Designer is responsible for working with the marketing and communications team to develop print, promotional materials, signage, infographics, packaging labels, sell sheets, product info cards and more.
The ideal candidate will have experience using design software and will be able to quickly adapt to the branding, design and marketing needs of a growing brand portfolio.
This candidate is an expert with the production process – formatting, sizing and retouching.
 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with brand managers, designers, copywriters and creative director to execute creative executions.
  • Prepare final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of printing
  • Make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolve any artwork issues that arise during production
  • Provide image retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation
  • Package and preflight files for release to printers or media partners
  • Create PDFs for print and internal review
  • Conduct press checks of marketing and product materials
  • Prepare brand images for online and mobile applications
  • Follow a development timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time
  • Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both the creative team, facility team and the printer
  • Working with the creative team to ensure that all materials are executed perfectly

Qualifications and education requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design or Arts
  • Minimum of 7 years production design experience required
  • Strong production design expertise required
  • Proficiency in Adobe CS required
  • Proficiency in Keynote & Powerpoint required
  • Previous experience managing and Cataloging brand assets required
  • An understanding of design systems: typography, hierarchy and structure is required
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • A team mentality and ability to work hand in hand with the graphic designers to help support and bring their designs to life
  • Highly organized, with a strong multi-tasking capability
  • Previous experience in packaging & label design is required.
  • NiceLabel experience is an asset
