Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Community Manager is a key driver of social media engagement and brand awareness campaign activities designed to support team goals and objectives. He or she has the responsibility to develop, execute, and analyze results for social media content, which they will do this in collaboration with key stakeholders and external agencies. This role will work across multiple brands with different tone of voice, consumer targets, and creative style – as such this person must be agile and able to flex between these brand personalities with ease.
Roles and responsibilities
  • Has a keen understanding of and strong passion for using social platforms
  • Never stops striving to find unique ways to reach and engage consumers in a heavily regulated market. He or she wants nothing more than to drive an effective customer engagement
  • Has demonstrated content development and writing skills that engage, inform and motivate
  • Is driven by the analytics behind social performance. Looking at the metrics and turn them into creative insights, campaigns, and collateral. Continued drive to look for ways to increase effective customer and community engagement
  • Is a strong communicator and relationship builder, working with 3rd party vendors
  • A self-starter, able to be agile in an ever changing and growing marketplace
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital marketing channels that compliment social: SEM, SEO, Social, Programmatic, Email
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with communities online, driving conversation, and understanding when to escalate to PR
  • Understands what it requires to manage a reputation online, and the nature of the cannabis environment
  • Strong business judgment, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact KPI initiatives
  • Experienced at planning, measuring, monitoring and analyzing digital and social media campaigns
  • Channel strategy development to drive most optimized levels of engagement
  • Engagement with website AMA portals, providing solutions or driving to customer service team
  • Adhere to restrictions and requirements around advertising and marketing as set out in the Cannabis Act
  • Degree in Communications or Marketing; certificate in Digital Marketing is a strong asset
  • 5+ Years of Experience with Social Media or Community Management
  • Cannabis experience strongly preferred. Other relevant industry experience might include alcohol, tobacco, and/or consumer product
  • Data Collection and Analysis – Google Analytics Certifications
  • Solid foundation in SEO, keyword/ad-word research
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills - High Level Copy writing 
  • Self-Motivated and Self-Starter
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels, and keen interest in staying on the digital cutting edge
