Reporting to the Senior Manager - Accounting, the Staff Accountant - Contract will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed as required. They will be responsible for managing capital assets record keeping and supporting our Accounts Receivable clerk with aged billings to ensure collection. Must have the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects and deadlines; solid organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
 
This is a term role ending May 30, 2019
 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of capital assets, including maintaining an accurate binder of all asset information
  • Ensure old insurance balances are rebilled and collected
 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Registered and attending post-secondary or completion with two years of relevant working experience if competed post-secondary schooling
  • Proven ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team with demonstrated interpersonal skills that promote mutually beneficial, respectful and professional relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to represent information that is appropriately tailored to any level of the organization.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts with attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Solid understanding of accounting software (ERP systems including sub‐modules preferred)
  • PC skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred), along with the ability to adapt to and learn new software
