Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Corporate Accountant will be responsible for ensuring revenue transactions are recorded correctly and in compliance with relevant accounting standards. Responsibilities also include managing capital assets and leases and supporting overall financial reporting for two entities along with ad-hoc duties as required.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions in multiple currencies
  • Maintain Capital Asset Continuity and documentation
  • Ensure that all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounting activities are completed at a timely and accurate manner
  • Monitor and analyse accounting data and assist in the production of accurate financial reports or statements
  • Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments, balance sheet reconciliations and assist in the preparation of monthly accounting statements
  • Review financial data for accuracy, correctness, and completeness
  • Co-manage all activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, payroll and special projects accounting
  • Manage and assist in the cash management process including reconciliations and weekly forecasting
  • Prepare federal and state tax reporting returns on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Develop and maintain accounting files and records
  • Provide support and financial expertise to all departments
  • Keep abreast of federal and state developments, laws and policies that may affect the financial operations of the organisation
  • Assist in the development of standard accounting procedures to improve financial operation efficiency
  • Assist with creating and updating internal controls, policies, and procedures
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in Accounting/Finance
  • 5 years relevant working experience is required
  • Experience in both public accounting and industry an asset
  • Solid understanding of accounting software (ERP systems including sub-modules)
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must like challenges and have the ability to problem solve
  • Results oriented
  • Collaborative with strong ability to influence
