The purpose of the Electronic Test Technician – Class II is to:  1) Be responsible for all aspects of in-process testing, final testing and environmental testing; 2) Furnish technical direction for the development of test guidelines of new assemblies including the development of processes as required; 3). Ensure outgoing product meets required performance characteristics; and 4) Identify, analyze and resolve most quality issues with minimum supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform non-specialized visual/mechanical inspection
  • Set up and perform product acceptance testing in accordance with established procedures 
  • Perform failure analysis of defective product (both in-house and returned product) determining defect cause 
  • Perform in-process surveillance of test, materials, and processes, in accordance with established procedures 
  • Document all test, material and process evaluations performed
  • Report all non-conformances found during test, material and process evaluations per established procedures.  
  • Troubleshoot and repair failed electronic units.
  • Conduct in-process and final tests as required
  • Evaluate the condition of all assembly process methods as appropriate to monitor process performance, cycle times, and process capabilities
  • Initiate, evaluate, and review all specifications/drawings for all test products
  • Initiate assembly issue solutions through participation with all departments
  • Perform or assist in environmental/first article, first article review, planning, and implementation when required.
  • Perform special testing (preproduction, reliability, etc.) as directed. 
Two year college or university degree in Electronics or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years related experience and/or combination of education and experience.
  • Requires minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic
  • Performs complex math calculations.
  • Follows detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Reads schematics, drawings and manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Prioritizes responsibilities in line with factory production schedules
