Compass Airlines is seeking a Crew Planning Manager to join our team at our Minneapolis, Minnesota – Headquarters location. We are looking for an innovative and technical individual, with exceptional business judgment, as well as the initiative and competence to make a significant contribution to the Compass organization.

Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for monthly schedule (pairing) construction and production. Analyze proposed schedules and the effects on cost and utilization of crew resources. Responsible for the creation and distribution of crew bid packages, PBS awards, FLiCA processes, annual vacation awards, and the overall general support and administration of all Crew Planning activities. Host regularly scheduled staffing meetings. Oversee and assist in optimizing IOE planning, scheduling, and tracking. To assist and possibly direct Crew Planning task and processes at other sister airlines on an “as needed basis.”
               
Job Qualifications:
Required:             
  • 3-5 years regional or major airline experience in Crew Planning or Scheduling.
  • 3-5 years in a work environment using complex labor contracts and restrictive work rules.
  • 3-5 years' experience working with FAR rest and duty limitations.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years· related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
  • Experience and knowledge of Crew Planning software.
  • Experience and knowledge of OE Scheduling practices.
 
Job Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Ability to use Lufthansa Netline/Crew. functions to include pairing modification, pairing building, report generation and coverage checking.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret and make suggestions on pairing and crew schedule utilization. Ability to write reports, and business correspondence to address or providing convincing arguments on general planning issues.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from management, ALPA or
  • AFA representatives, or other department personnel in the company.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid and convincing conclusions. Intermediate to advanced "abstract reasoning" capability
  • Ability to work with and present basic accounting, percentages, basic statistical
  • inferences, and ratios.
  • Ability to construct advanced spreadsheets using Excel to demonstrate and track a variety of utilization or performance data pertaining to Crew Planning.
  • Ability to use MS Word for report writing.
  • Workload can be heavy at times requiring extended concentration ability, and a
  • strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the Crew and Management.
  • Willing to work varied hours including weekends and holidays to meet all contractual deadlines.
  • Perform additional functions assigned from time to time.
Job Specifics:
  • Produce and publish contractual and FAR legal crew PBS schedules that balance crew satisfaction with cost efficiency; meeting staffing objectives.
  • Publish crew staffing bids to ensure proper staffing in each domicile.
  • Collaborate with other internal departments to balance offline requests with staffing needs.
Work Environment:
  • General office environment.
  • May require travel up to 15% of the time.
