Compass Airlines is seeking a Dispatch Supervisor to join our team at our Minneapolis, Minnesota – Headquarters location. We are looking for an innovative and technical individual, with exceptional business judgment, as well as the initiative and competence to make a significant contribution to the Compass organization.

Job Purpose:
Provide a single point of contact in the Compass SOC for communications with stations and assist the Duty Manager with the Delta OCC during IROP situations. Provide supervision of the dispatcher group and assist in the solving of problems they encounter. Completion of task delegated by the SOC Duty Manager to assure a safe efficient operation in the Compass SOC. In addition this position on occasion will be asked to provide coverage for the Soc Duty Manager and dispatch flights.
 
Job Qualifications
Required:
  • Currently performing duties of a 121 dispatcher
  • Experience operating  the following software systems
    • Sabre FlightTrac
    • Sabre Dispatch Manager
    • Sabre Fight Plan Calculator
    • Aerodata Systems
    • Flight Explorer Pro
    • CrewTrac
    • World Flight
    • DeltaMatic
    • Sabre Reports
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • FAA Dispatch License
 
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
     
Physical Demands:
Office environment with long periods of sitting at a computer and phone usage

  • Ability to coordinate multiple demanding operations simultaneously making informed decisions in a timely manner
  • Exceptional ability to manage and coordinate multiple departments in challenging situations with goal driven outcomes
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to treat all individuals with fairness and respect and act in accordance with the expressed Compass standard
  • Ability to display a high level of self discipline and motivation in difficult and challenging situations
  • Knowledge of FAR 121 regulations in all aspects of the daily flight operations.
  • Exceptional problem solving abilities
 
Job Specifics:
  • Maintain the integrity of the Compass flight schedule by assuring all flights times are accurate and current.
  • Be the single point of contact for station communications.
  • Responsible for posting delays and working with the Delta ATC during GDP events.
  • Responsible for the routing of Compass aircraft at the direction of the Duty Manager and in coordination with the maintenance planner
  • Maintain the integrity of the Compass flight schedule by assuring all flight times are accurate and current.
  • Assist the duty manager in implementing operational plans
  • Be familiar and able to execute all communication and coordination procedures during an IROP event.
  • Will schedule and administer competency checks for the dispatch group.
  • Perform training events as required
  • Responsible for the supervision of the Compass dispatchers assist and mentor when the situation dictates.
  • Perform the duties of the dispatcher or duty manager if required.    
 
Work Environment:
This is a high demand position that works directly with the other departments in the SOC.
The position will be a 10 hour shift and will be required to work early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays. On occasion this position may work 12 hour shifts to provide relief coverage for other SOC positions.
