Job Purpose:
The Supervisor of Technical Audits is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Compass Airlines’ Quality Assurance Technical Auditors. This involves the leadership of a staff focused on the delivery of compliance and safety functions (oversight of the Company’s CAMP) in the carrier’s technical operations as well as with our external customers (i.e. Fuel, C.A.S.E., De-Ice and ROV Vendors).
 
Job Qualifications:
Required:
  • US Citizen or have the legal right to accept employment in the United States
  • The applicant should be familiar with Transport Category Aircraft Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Strong computer software skills including:
    • Strong Excel capabilities including pivot tables, charting, and graphing
    • Access or other database
    • Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Adobe Acrobat
  • 1-3 years of aviation experience in the areas of Transport Category Aircraft Maintenance, Inspection and Quality Control, Safety or Quality Assurance.
  • Applicants must have a current Passport with no travel restrictions and proper documentation to legally work in the US.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read the English language
  • Must have the ability to routinely move heavy objects up to 50 pounds
 
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, Business or related field
  • Experience on Embraer 170/175 aircraft
  • Experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control / Safety
  • Hold a valid FAA Airframe & Power plant Certificate
  • Basic to intermediate math / algebra level – formula / spreadsheet manipulation
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write reports on technical findings.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with aircraft heavy maintenance facilities, turbine engine repair and restoration facilities, composite construction and repair, calibration facilities, non-destructive testing (NDT), welding, aircraft component repair, overhaul, manufacturing, machining and plating facilities and their associated standards and regulations.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with ground handling, servicing, fuel servicing ATA-103; IATA IFQP, aircraft ground de-icing and ramp operations.
 
 
Job Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of related Federal Aviation Regulations, DOT and other government regulatory requirements & guidance.
  • Responsible for research, generation and submission of summaries related to compliance related events and audit or inquiries from internal or external agencies/organizations.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to work independently while still keeping a team perspective.
  • Must be detail-orientated with ability to multi-task on a regular basis.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to show demonstrated ability to be discreet in matters of confidential information.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and coordinate with associated departments.
  • Familiar with line maintenance, overnight maintenance, heavy maintenance, shop repairs of components, and the associated maintenance programs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write and present technical reports.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to professionally represent Compass Airlines to internal and external entities.
 
Job Specifics:
The Supervisor of Technical Audits is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Compass Airlines’ Quality Assurance Technical Auditors. This involves the leadership of a staff focused on the delivery of compliance and safety functions (oversight of the Company’s CAMP) in the carrier’s technical operations as well as with our external customers (i.e. Fuel, C.A.S.E., De-Ice and ROV Vendors).  The Supervisor of Technical Audits duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Supervises the work required by the Quality Assurance Technical Auditing Department as it relates to the CASS Auditing Processes to include:
    • Constructing the Monthly Audit Schedule and assigning all Internal and External Vendor Audits to Qualified Technical Auditors.
    • Assisting Technical Auditors in scheduling and preparation of assigned audits as required.
    • Reviewing Audit Reports generated by Technical Auditors to ensure the file is complete and accurate.
    • Monitoring the Audit Control System to ensure Adequate Audit Responses are received in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the establishment of the CASS Audit procedures, and modify / revise procedures as appropriate.
  • Ensures compliance with GMM Policy / Procedures and regulatory requirements for the Technical Operations Personnel through the CASS Audit Process.
  • Review reported findings for trending in elements of the company’s internal and external audit program.
  • Ensures a work environment that operates within core values, division goals, and provides a quality environment that supports a team effort, encourages open communication, and stresses continuous improvement.
  • Conduct internal and external audits and review subsequent deficiencies with the appropriate personnel to assist in identifying and completing the root cause and corrective actions.
  • Act as liaison with all Technical Operations areas to ensure proper responses to internal audit program findings.
  • Provide training to ensure all Technical Auditors are properly trained and authorized to conduct all audits performed by the Quality Assurance Auditing Group.In addition, the supervisor will maintain all training records for all authorized individuals.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of company processes and procedures from Compass Technical Operations Manual Suite.
  • Maintains and Updates the Compass Approved Vendor List.
  • Working hours include varying shifts (as needed) with frequent travel required.

    Work Environment:
  • Position is office based but requires frequent visits to audit and observe vendors, parts warehouses, line maintenance and aircraft in a flight line environment or in a heavy maintenance/repair environment. (High Noise Levels, dirt and dust environment – hearing and eye protection provided)
  • Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally (up to approximately 50% of the work month, most always business days).
