The Curriculum Development Specialist is responsible for designing and developing new curriculum and curriculum changes to existing programs. The Curriculum Development Specialist works closely with the Manager of AQP, Data Analyst, and Subject Matter Experts, to ensure that training material is technically correct and meets defined curriculum needs. ISD techniques and data analysis will be used in the development and design of new programs and changes to existing programs.

The Curriculum Development Specialist reports directly to the Manager of AQP and will maintain a close working relationship with the Manager of Standards and Manager of Flight Operations Training.


Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize analyzed data results to incorporate identified trends into the existing training curriculum, as determined by Flight Operations Training Management.
  • Assist the Data Analyst in data collection strategies, as needed.
  • When necessary, provide new curriculum program updates or curriculum changes to Flight Operations Training Management and the Data Analyst, for review.
  • Collaborate with the Data Analyst, in reviewing the results of the data, to present pertinent information regarding program updates for the quarterly Flight Data Acquisition Working Group (FDAWG).
  • Be an active participant with Subject Matter Experts, and the Manager of AQP in new training program Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation.


The Curriculum Development Specialist should possess the following knowledge and skills or equivalent education and/or work experience:

  • Two (2) years of higher education (preferred) or have two (2) years’ experience in a Part 121 operational role.
  • Capable of learning FAA regulatory requirements related to training and evaluation for pilots and Instructor/Evaluators.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work on various projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to write training footprints, training modules, curriculum outlines, Qualification Standards, job tasks, and develop the necessary training materials for presentation of the curriculum (i.e. Power Point Presentations).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present and explain the creation of new and updated training material to Training Managers, Subject Matter Experts and Data Analyst.
