Facilities Maintenance Technician
This position is responsible for the preventative, routine and emergency repairs on all facility equipment including pumps, small engines, HVAC, water lines, electrical lines, etc.  Carpentry work to include framing, replacement of fencing and other light carpentry duties.  A minimum of 2 years experience in Facilities Maintenance should include basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical, painting, carpentry and water filtration systems. Preferred strengths in Carpentry, roofing, and framing a plus. The ability to operate heavy equipment will be preferred.  Good communication skills along with the ability to work in a team environment are required. 
Candidates must be available to work special events that may occur outside of regular work schedule, including evenings, weekends or holidays, as assigned, and ability to work independently, exercising independent judgment and discretion.
Candidates must have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, be able to bend, kneel, crawl, climb, jump and carry objects for short distances, be able to lift 50 pounds without difficulty, be able to traverse zoo grounds and construction on foot, be able to work outdoors in weather conditions including heat, cold, wind and rain, operate a motorized cart and be able to effectively communicate with staff and guests. Must hold a valid driver’s license and  be able to operate a motorized vehicle.
