Audio Video (AV) Technician
Be a part of enhancing the Event experience at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is currently seeking a full-time Audio Video (AV) Technician. The Audio Video Technician position will oversee all audio and visual equipment through set-up, troubleshooting, operation, and removal. Keeping up to date on the latest technologies and innovative uses of these technologies in an effort improve our event spaces and events. The technician will meet with the staff and guests to work with them to confirm their Audio and Visual needs prior to their event. Audio Visual Services includes but is not limited to screens, projectors, microphones, speakers, video conferencing equipment, televisions, switchers, wireless internet, wired internet, power for events, lighting, cameras, computers/laptops, special effects, and cabling.
***This position requires evening and weekend availability***
Skills Required:
Audio visual technicians must be able to transport, assemble, maintain and repair equipment used in multimedia production. Knowledge of camera and lighting techniques is essential, and familiarity with editing equipment and software may be required.
Experience with computer and network-based audio technology are needed as this position will interact with a number of IT assets in the overall plan for site wide audio and in support of special events.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, traverse zoo grounds on foot and operate a motorized golf cart, must be able to walk, bend, kneel and crawl and be able to lift 50 pounds without difficulty.
