Junior IT Administrator
The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is currently seeking a full-time Jr. IT Administrator.  The position is responsible for second-level end user support of Servers, Network, PC’s. telephones, radios, multiple software packages including Microsoft Server, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, Point of Sale, and other various software programs. Coordinates various duties with IT Technicians and Interns to provide timely responses to all manner of help desk, project, and security procedures as required.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Management of AD, GPO, DHCP, and DNS systems
  • Maintenance and monitoring of onsite core systems as well as cloud-based solutions.
  • Network and communications management and monitoring of existing equipment as well as planning and expanding phone and data communications to new areas.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to IT Technicians and interns including but not limited to task assignment, additional on-site training, project planning/review, and change management.
  • Monitor and maintain workstation and server security and patches. Provides task assignment for mitigating specific vulnerability patches and configuration issues to technicians and follows up to confirm completion.
Educational/Work Experience Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have a college degree in computer information systems or equivalent experience. Prior experience in network configuration, server
installation/configuration, network/server maintenance, software configuration, and experience in a layered Help Desk environment is required.  Must be available to work outside of regular work schedule, including evenings, weekends or holidays, as necessary, to ensure critical systems are operational or to perform necessary system updates.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, traverse zoo grounds on foot and operate a motorized golf cart, must be able to walk, bend, kneel and crawl and be able to lift 50 pounds without difficulty.
