Director of Human Resources – Milwaukee, WI
Do you have a passion for our community and the skill set to support growth at an up-and-coming health organization? Progressive Community Health Centers is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Director of Human Resources. Be the “go-to” leader responsible for providing strategic direction that will help this community health center reach the next level in recruitment, retention, employee engagement, organizational development, and other key areas of human resources.
Who are we?
Founded in 1999, Progressive Community Health Centers is an independent non-profit organization that operates four clinic locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. More than 100 employees support our agency’s mission to improve the health and quality of life of the community by providing culturally competent services that address identified needs. We provide high quality, comprehensive care to roughly 16,000 patients annually—a majority of who are low-income. No one is ever turned away from our clinics based on insurance status or ability to pay. We value a patient-centered philosophy and provide range of services that include family medicine, internal medicine, women’s health, urgent care, dental, radiology and integrated behavioral health. We also offer supportive services such as case management, health education and benefits enrollment.
What will you do?
The Director of Human Resources will collaborate with the executive leadership team to develop a comprehensive HR plan for the organization. This role is key in shaping our culture and establishing a talent pipeline to support our agency’s mission.  You will serve as the strategic business partner who guides, manages and improves HR processes. This includes designing and implementing short and long-term goals for recruitment and staffing, provider credentialing, onboarding, safety, performance management, payroll, regulatory compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations.
What do you need to qualify?
  1. Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  2. Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in HR leadership role including detailed knowledge of compensation, performance management, benefits and employee relations
  3. Previous experience in health care industry preferred
  4. SHRM-CP or SCP certification a plus
  5. Fluent in HR technology systems and platforms such as HRIS, performance management, and benefits administration portals
