The 281-CARE  Clinical Service Provider will respond to callers in crisis at a 24 hour crisis hotline.    

  • Provide crisis intervention, referrals and link clients to community resources.
  • Assure documentation is in compliance with contract, regulatory and agency requirements and best clinical practices.
  • Efficiently operates personal computer to enter, edit and/ or retrieve data.
  • Effectively works as a team member, including participating in all required trainings, ensure the safety of others and participate in Peer Review/CQI process.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

•Performing various record keeping duties

•Resolving conflicts/crisis or unusual incidents in an open, effective and timely manner utilizing appropriate crisis intervention and prevention skills.

•Demonstrate acceptable administrative and professional behavior; demonstrate good communication skills and a strong customer service orientation; adhere to acceptable professional/clinical boundaries and confidentiality requirements.

•Deal with problems involving several variables in familiar context

•Recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate action

•Complete forms

•Give or exchange facts and information

•Operate office equipment (photocopier, computer software)

•Read and record information

  • Responds to emergencies and crisis situations by intervening when conflict occurs to de-escalate the situation
  • Assesses callers risk for suicide
  • Provides information, referrals and follow up calls to callers in crisis
  • Handles and or assists in emergency situations until contact with or in cooperation with appropriate authorities
  • Supports those who pose a suicidal risk until proper authorities arrive
  • Track and document all calls
  • Performs routine non-clinical assessment duties as required by 281-Care
  • Assist callers and peers in making decisions utilizing appropriate client supervision techniques.
  • Recognizes and understands how to handle crisis situations (i.e. crisis de-escalation and motivational interviewing)
  • Monitor and respond to emergency and crisis situations from texting service database
  • Provide  information and complete intake for external sources, contract depending
  • Completes and provides accurate and timely documentation (incident reports, log entries, etc.) and related record keeping duties 
  • Communicates key information in a timely manner
  • Answers telephones
  • Answers questions/inquiries
  • Maintains accurate records
